Steaks are high

Ninja invite you to get your grub on next week down in Brixton, where alongside some choice cuts of meat you’ll also be able to enjoy music from some of the labels newest signings (and Jon More) including our own King Cannibal.
It’s only £3 but you’ll need to drop them a line to get on the guestlist.
Full Metal Ninja

Today we are very proud to announce that King Cannibal has just inked a deal with the mighty Ninja Tune label. After heavy support from the likes of Amon Tobin and DJ Food, the finest recording company in the world has stepped up to the plate and added KC to their heavyweight roster where he will fit in nicely alongside labelmates such as The Bug and Ghislain Poirer.
Expect news of a single very soon and then KC will be retreating to his jungle studio to finish off his debut album.
Life In Cold Blood
From the frozen tundra of Norway comes a new mix from Spykidelic (of Knives Ov Resistance) recorded live two weeks ago at his own Acid Grime night at BLÅ in Oslo. Noticeably less doom metal than in his previous mix, but still plenty of speaker busting sub bass to get your head round.

Two Fingered Salute

Word reaches the war room of the much anticipated Two Fingers (aka Amon Tobin & Doubleclick) album, finally in the bag and featuring guests spots from the likes of Sway, Ms. Jade, Ce’Cile, Durrty Goodz and Kevin Tuffy the boys are now looking for the right label to unleash the beast with. You can check their myspace page now where they’ve upped a mini mix of all the tracks for your ears to feats on.
Alternatively you can download the mix from here in its full 320 kb/s glory.
Cold As Ice

The first 12″ under the King Cannibal name finally sees the light of day on the heavy, heavy Rag & Bone label. 2 cone melting tracks of thunderous bass and breaks that have been tearing up dancefloors recently and are now finally available to buy.
Only on vinyl for now but it should be available to buy digitally in a week or so, we’ll update this as soon as it is.

They Burn Churches Don’t They

Norway comes correct on this mix from Spykidelic and Are Mokkelbost, a speaker busting mix of drone rock, black metal and dubstep perfect for some Halloween uneasy listening. Recorded at their Acid Grime night I’m already looking for cheap flights for the next one.

Grinted Teeth & Brawlsville

Whilst clearing out the office we found a long thought lost box of ‘ZILLA’s stone cold classic CD ‘Grinted Teeth & Brawlsville’. Released in 2006 ‘Grinted Teeth…’ sold out on it’s inital release and is regarded as one of the finest mixes released in the last few years. Anyway here are some of the details from it’s original release:
‘GRINTED TEETH & BRAWLSVILLE‘
11 Months, 88 Tracks & 773 Audio files in the making!
A work of passion for nearly a whole year now begining at the tail end of Warp Vision Tour, which works as a progression directly from the Watch And Repeat Play mix – Dirty South, Techno, Breakcore, Ghetto Tech all mixed, edited cut n pasted to an angry screwed up face and forced into CD. Here’s a little background…..
“Grinted Teeth & Brawlsville, the first in an occasional series of Grindhouse collages has been spawned from: Being Stuck travelling when the only magazine you haven’t read in WHSmiths is The Source or XXL / Spending too many nights flicking back and forth between Channel U & MTV Base / Checking Turntablelab every single day / Revisiting dusty long-unplayed records / Late night discussions about jungle records gone-by / Scaring kids at Warp shows / Argueing on message boards /Being lazy & only using records close to hand / Music i like.“

Unique 3 – The Theme (ZILLA Remix)
Unique 3 – The Theme (Fat!)
1. Autechre Remix
2. ‘ZILLA’ Remix
Probably one of the most influential British techno records of the last two decades, Unique 3‘s ‘The Theme’ was a brutal modernist slab of speaker destroying bass and sonar bleeps. Cited as an influence by everyone from LFO to Goldie to The Chemical Brothers, this genuine rave classic provided a particularly British response to the sounds coming out of Detroit in the mid to late eighties.
Now re-issued on Fat! Records, this beautiful little 10″ of red vinyl contains mixes by the legendary Autechre and GoW’s ‘ZILLA’. Having had these mixes rattling around on our iPods for over a year now it’s great to finally see them in the shops. Autechre, slow the whole thing down and murk it up a notch, whilst ‘ZILLA’ turns in a skittering electronic robo-hip-hop jam that absolutely kills it on a large system.
The vinyl is horribly limited, something like 500 worldwide, so buy now or be damned to watch it go for stupid money on Ebay.

The Chap get chopped

The Chop (Lo-EB)
1. Woop Woop – Hot Chip/The Chap
2. President At Last – Zilla/The Chap
3. Space = Volume – Pier Bucci/The Chap
4. Auto Where To – Vincent Oliver/The Chap
Released 11th June
Set for release next week, The Chop on Lo-EB is a 4 track EP of remixes of everyone’s favourite art rockers The Chap. It’s a tough package with refixes from Hot Chip, Pier Bucci, Vincent Oliver and our own ‘ZILLA’ who has turned in a surprisingly un-aggro version.
As usual for anything involving the Lo boys the whole thing comes in some great packaging (check their LOAF series for the ultimate in plawsh award winning design) but should you be one of those hyper modern types who care little for such things it should be up on Bleep.com soon too.
You can listen to all the tracks here, and it looks like Phonica are right on the ball and have copies in already for purchase here.
